Located in the south-central part of Indiana, the city of Seymour is commonly referred to as the “Crossroads of Southern Indiana.” It is situated in the middle of four industrial centers and at the intersection of two rail lines, and is served by Interstate 65, U.S. Highways 50 and 31, and State Highways 11 and 258.  Seymour’s airport, owned by the city, has one of the largest charter and freight services in Indiana.

Seymour is located 62 miles south of Indianapolis (IN), 55 miles north of Louisville (KY), and 90 miles east of Cincinnati (OH).  Twenty-three freight lines regularly serve Seymour’s businesses.

The population of Seymour is approximately 21,000 (1992) and the population of Jackson County, including Seymour, is approximately 42,000 (1992).
